    Gramona’s history is long and storied with the property being a quality reference point in the Penedès for decades. As far back as 1816, a member of the family has been making wine in the vicinity of San Sadurní d’Anoia. Gramona’s name began to be put on bottles of “Cava Champagne” in 1921. Today the house is one of the few remaining family-owned estates in the region, most having been swallowed up by large corporations in the last half-century. Jaume Gramona is in charge of viticulture and winemaking overseeing two cellars, the ancient family cave where their finest Cavas age under cork and a new cellar outside of the village. Grapes are sourced from up to 303 hectares of vineyards that are farmed organically and biodynamically – 72 hectares of which the Gramona family owns.

    While it is tempting to view the least expensive Cava from a producer as the “house style” for a property it is perhaps not the case for Gramona. With more time in bottle before disgorgement it combines the richness of its Mediterranean climate, the freshness of its cepage and the oxidative notes of its elevage. Imperial is finished with an <8g/L dosage from a century old Solera maintained and nurtured in the cellars of the estate.

    Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages

    Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

    Shipping to Other States

    We may ship wine or sake, on your behalf, to some States in the Continental US. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com if shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

    We cannot ship wine/sake to the following states: AL, DE, KS, KY, MI, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NV, PA, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT.

    Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.

    International Shipping

    Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.

    Signature Policy

    For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
