La Giaretta winery's story started back in the late 1950s, in the very heart of the Valpolicella area. Its champion was wine lover Bruno Vaona, who opened a wondrous symphony, pervaded by taste and aroma, which was proudly taken over by the family, who still look after their own vineyards, making wines that convey the authentic spirit of the area.

The range includes the "I Quadretti": Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico, aged three years in French oak barrels, and Valpolicella Ripasso Doc Classico Superiore, aged two years plus other six/seven months in the bottle. Long processes, which allow wine to take on its own shape and also surprise, especially if paired with hearty dishes.

Cantina La Giaretta's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2016 is a classic example of this Venetian wine. Made from grapes which are dried outdoors to concentrate the flavour, this has intense cherry notes and will match well with beef and mature cheese.
