Notes from the Winemaker
Bodegas Valduero is a family-owned wine estate in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Production is – unsurprisingly given the appellation – focused on red wine made from the Tempranillo grape variety, known here as Tinto Fino.
The company was founded by Gregorio Garcia Álvarez in 1984 in the small town of Gumiel de Mercado in the province of Burgos. At that time there were only half a dozen bottling wineries in the region, which only received DO status in 1982. The business is currently run by two daughters of the founder.
There are 200 hectares (495 acres) of vigorously pruned low-yielding vineyards, situated around the winery, which was dug out of the hillside in 2000. It is lined with a thick concrete wall and covered with five meters of earth, thus achieving a steady 14° temperature without any power consumption. The wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks and matured in oak barrels in cellars which reach 20 meters underground.
The portfolio includes Ribera del Duero red wines at Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva levels, plus three deluxe bottling; the first to being the 100 percent Tinto Fino Una Cepa, and Reserva Premium 6 Años (three years ageing in barrel, then years in bottle).

Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages
Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.
International Shipping
Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.
Signature Policy
For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
