Julien Mazaloubaud has a dream: to one day put the name of his grandfather Léopold on the list of the greatest starred chefs.
The gamble began in 2002, when Julien inherited an extraordinary Clos, one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Gigondas: 6 hectares of steep vines, nestled in a valley at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
Today, in duo with his wife Anne-Caroline, he cultivates the family vines organically and produces a modern, atypical Gigondas (60% Grenache, 40% Syrah), with a gourmet freshness.
The Clos Léopold has already seduced Swiss connoisseurs who do not hesitate to make the trip to Gigondas. Next step for Julien and Anne-Caroline: to receive sommeliers and professionals who have become curious thanks to word-of-mouth!

Terroirs: Clay-limestone, plots located at an altitude of 350 metres, in a natural cirque.

Winemaking
Traditional in concrete vats with destemmed grapes, long 35-day fermentation at low temperature (under 20°C), natural yeasts.
Breeding
Up to 12 months in uncoated cement vats, then in bottle, no barrel ageing.

Tasting Notes
Deep, intense color
Nose
Attractive black fruits, framed by notes of graphite, liquorish and menthol, evolving towards notes of warm plum and sweet spices.
Mouth
Fluid and fruity, the wine is streamlined in a style displaying finesse and freshness, balanced, round, the frame is tight, very good length, tannins present, fine and elegant for a good ageing to come.

Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages
Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.
International Shipping
Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.
Signature Policy
For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
