Notes from the Winemaker
In the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin, the 2021 vintage is distinguished by its high quality, being rated as "Excellent" by the Regulatory Council.
In Conde de San Cristóbal, winter and spring were characterized by cooler temperatures than usual, especially in the month of January. After the heavy snowfall caused by storm Filomena, temperatures minimum temperatures reached 10ºC/15ºC, which contributed to delaying budbreak in approximately 30 days. This phenomenon avoided the risks of frost spring and led to the appearance of outbreaks on April 6. The months winter and spring rains were generous in rains, strengthening our water reserves. The summer was characterized by its aridity, with temperatures more moderate than usual and a marked thermal amplitude between the day and the This resulted in heterogeneous ripening in our vineyards. The 53.5 liters of rain recorded in September contributed to mitigating the summer drought and homogenized the ripening of the grapes. The wines obtained stood out for their chromatic expressiveness, a balance between alcohol, acidity and tannins, and an outstanding potential for aging.
Elaboration
The grapes are selected in the vineyard itself and picked by hand in boxes of 12 Kilos. After passing through the selection table, the bunches are destemmed at low levels revolutions to later enter the tanks by gravity. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature controlled at between 20º and 24ºC for 9 to 12 days. Once the fermentation, the wine undergoes maceration with the pastes for 7 to 10 days.
It is a structured wine, with firm but silky tannins. Its passage through the mouth is enveloping, with a perfect balance between acidity and body. The finish is long, persistent and smooth, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness.

By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

International Shipping
Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.
Signature Policy
For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
