A cult favorite from legendary winemaker Peter Sisseck, PSI is an extraordinary expression of Ribera del Duero that combines the power of the region with a more elegant, fresh and approachable style. Rather than coming from a single vineyard, PSI is built from fruit sourced across some of Ribera del Duero’s finest old-vine parcels, with the 2023 vintage bringing together fruit from 12 villages and hundreds of individual vineyard plots.

The 2023 is juicy, ripe and beautifully expressive, showing layers of blackberry, black cherry, plum, red berries, violets and dried flowers, accented by notes of pine, balsamic herbs, graphite, pepper and subtle spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with impressive concentration balanced by bright acidity and remarkably fine-grained tannins. There is plenty of structure, but the wine remains energetic and inviting rather than heavy.

The PSI Story

PSI began in 2007, when Peter Sisseck set out to preserve old, often neglected vineyards throughout Ribera del Duero and support the small growers who farm them. Today, the project encompasses approximately 200 hectares spread across roughly 700 parcels, with only about 25% estate-owned. This extraordinary patchwork of old vines gives PSI its complexity and sense of place.

The 2023 blend also includes approximately 10% Garnacha, alongside predominantly Tempranillo, adding brightness and aromatic lift to the wine. The grapes are hand harvested and vinified in concrete, with only a relatively small portion of the final wine seeing French oak.
