Eye-catching bright gold hue, incredibly clean and crisp on the palate with hints of tangy white peach, lemon zest, green apple, and quince. The flinty and herbaceous notes are rounded out by an almond honey and floral finish. A beautiful expression of a Garnacha Blanca blend.
When asked to describe her work in Cap Creus, Anna states that it is a land of
granite, wind, blue skies, and the smell of wild herbs and sea spray. While it
may seem odd that she doesn’t mention vineyards in this description, it is largely
because vines have been an integral part of this landscape shaped in equal parts
by nature and human hands. In the US, our National Parks strive to minimize the
impact of civilization, whereas, in this part of Catalunya, there is no escaping it.
What might seem like a relic of a glacier is, in fact, a standing stone erected by
human hands over 4000 years ago for some long-forgotten purpose. With Anna’s
dedication to organic and regenerative farming, these vineyards can once again
be brought into balance with the surrounding flora and fauna. Through her
work, Anna is paying tribute to the thousands of years of interaction between
her ancestors and the land they’ve inhabited.
Pla de Gates is a blend of Lledoner Blanc and Roig (Grenache Blanc and Gris) that
Anna Espelt grows in her Mas Marés vineyard. Having gained experience with
these varieties further inland where the climate is warmer, Anna has discovered
that they really shine closer to the Mediterranean, where nearly constant winds
result in smaller clusters, berries, thicker skins, and fresher acidity. Pla de Gates
is cooled overnight after harvesting by hand, is partially destemmed, and sees a
short maceration before a long gentle pressing to capture all the aromatic and
phenolic potential of these two varieties.

Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

International Shipping
Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.
Signature Policy
For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
