Fresh, vibrant and beautifully expressive, the Jean Leon 3055 Chardonnay is a modern Spanish Chardonnay that delivers plenty of character without relying on oak. Grown in the Penedès at vineyards planted in 1991, the 2024 vintage was shaped by moderate temperatures and cool day-to-night contrasts that helped preserve the grape’s natural freshness and aromatic intensity.

The wine opens with inviting aromas of ripe pineapple, citrus, white peach and other white fruits, with a subtle mineral freshness. On the palate, it is round and voluptuous yet lively, with balanced acidity, a pleasingly textured mid-palate and a long, clean finish. Four months of aging on its own fine lees in stainless-steel tanks add a touch of softness and texture while keeping the fruit and freshness front and center.

Why the name 3055?
The number comes from Jean Leon's taxi license in New York, one of the first jobs he held after arriving in America. His remarkable journey eventually took him to Hollywood, where he founded the legendary restaurant La Scala and later established his winery in Penedès. The 3055 range pays tribute to those humble beginnings and his adventurous spirit.

Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

International Shipping

Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.

Signature Policy

For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
