Notes from the Winemaker

Pinot Noir is everyone’s best friend at the dinner table, and this wine will not disappoint.
The 2017 vintage kept us on our toes, as we had to be extra attentive in the vineyard to
help determine a picking schedule to set the vintage up for success. The vintage received average rainfall and a traditional, long growing season until early September when a spike of temperature accelerated harvest. This wine is a blend from the estate vineyard and crafted to showcase all the best qualities of Edna Valley. It is carefully fermented in temperature controlled open top stainless-steel tanks and barreled down for 9 months in French oak barrels, 25% of them being new.

ABOUT THE VINEYARD
Edna Valley is a hidden gem and a prime location to grow California Pinot Noir. The diversity of the soils, elevation and exposure on our estate vineyard, Edna Ranch, ensures specific character in each block, making each lot distinct and adding complexity to the final product. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean, a mere 5 miles, funnels the cool ocean air into the valley to support the region’s long growing season. This allows a slow and rich aromatic development and preserves the acid in the fruit, translating into the freshness in this wine.

Shipping Policy

Title to, and Ownership of Alcoholic Beverages

Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from a Licensee to the purchaser at the licensed retail premises or warehouse and state it is purchased in and the purchaser takes all responsibility for shipping it from the licensed retail premises or warehouse to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the alcoholic beverages, the retailer is providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of alcoholic beverages, and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.

We may ship wine or sake, on your behalf, to some States in the Continental US. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com if shipping to Alaska or Hawaii.

We cannot ship wine/sake to the following states: AL, DE, KS, KY, MI, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NV, PA, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT.

Flat Rate shipping for $35 for all purchases under $500. For any order over $500, we offer free shipping.

International Shipping

Generally, we do not ship internationally, as some countries have restrictions on wine/sake shipping. Please send an email to elizabeth@inthecru.com before purchasing. In all cases, local taxes and shipping will be paid by the purchaser.

Signature Policy

For successful delivery of your wine or sake on the initial try, we highly advise selecting an address where an individual aged at least 21 is present to sign for the package. Legally, wine cannot be left without such a signature. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund shipping fees for packages returned due to the absence of an adult for signing. Shipments cannot be sent to APOs, FPOs, or P.O. boxes. Additionally, deliveries will not be made to individuals deemed intoxicated by the driver.
